At the Stepping Stone, we believe that our job is more than just providing food and shelter. We are passionate about guiding people to a life of financial independence and freedom. To do this, we have a case manager work directly with each resident to determine what steps they need to take to become independent.
We provide a starting place for those experiencing homelessness by giving our residents drug-free and alcohol-free housing. Our 26-bed facility is a temporary emergency housing option for Seward County.
The Stepping Stone is not only a shelter for the homeless, it is also a place providing meals to those in the community who are in need. Our soup kitchen provides an average of 30,000+ meals each year. This does not include the agencies that we are partnered with in giving of food boxes.
Lunch on Monday and Thursday ends at 12:30 p.m. due to picking up donations.
We believe in empowering our residents to live a life of financial independence. For many residents, one of their first steps to independence is finding a job that can pay their bills. At the Stepping Stone, we work with residents and equip them to find a job.
